Expanded Gambling Could Blow in to the Windy City

 Is this truly the answer to any problem excepting a way for the city and state to make more money for themselves?  Mr. Kindt is right!  People will gamble away their last dollar trying to strike it rich while their bills go unpaid and their children suffer from not having enough food and medicines.

More than 15,000 video-gambling machines may soon be in hundreds of bars and restaurants in Chicago.
 
Greg Goldner, who managed Mayor Richard Daley's campaign, is attempting to get the City Council to lift a video-gambling ban.
 
John Kindt, professor at the University of Illinois, said the expansion could impact the local economy and families.
 
"As people dump their money into these gambling machines," he said, "they're not buying cars or refrigerators, computers or even food and clothing for their kids."
